THIS IS US takes a bold step forward to include the tragedy of COVID and BLM. Yet it takes a few steps back, repeating previous season themes that defined the fence post the show appears to be caught in.
Can the show grow beyond the current fence post? TBD, but I'm still rooting for it to continue to be this generation's PARENTHOOD.
