THIS IS US brings audiences a very special episode of actors in cars. Although most of the story is on autopilot, Justin Hartley’s (Kevin) driven performance steers us toward an inevitable red light- aka a cliffhanger. It’s fun to see him back behind the wheel as the lead, even if the cliched plot involves him “literally” losing his identity.

Although the show is incorporating COVID into the narrative, it’s crippling the story at times. Less time together equals more awkward phone calls with actors saying their emotions versus showing them.

Here’s hoping that Kevin makes it those 500 miles home so we don’t have to watch him travel 500 more next week on NBC / Peacock.
