Early this morning, screen legend Sean Connery passed away. The gentle Scott’s legacy will live on through the empathy he created worldwide on and off the screen.

“If anything could have pulled me out of retirement, it would have been an Indiana Jones film. But in the end, retirement is just too much fun”

- Sean Connery

Here’s to Sean - retired in heaven - having way too much fun.

Let's honor his legacy with a top six (not in any order) to experience now 🤩 this weekend:

ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES

With just two minutes of screen time, Connery steals the spotlight from leading 90’s man, Kevin Costner. With what could have been a forgettable role as King Richard, Connery magically uses humility and fatherhood in the closing moments to make this a classic.

It is available to rent on Amazon, Google, Vudu, YouTube and iTunes.

INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE

The LAST CRUSADE takes all that is grand from RAIDERS, the adventure of TEMPLE OF DOOM and adds empathy with a father / son relationship. Without Connery’s performance as Professor Henry Jones, we would never get to see Indiana ”Junior” for who he really is - a little boy just trying to get his father’s approval.

Choose Wisely and stream it on Netflix.

GOLDFINGER

DR. NO may have introduced the world to 007, but GOLDFINGER made him an icon! All thanks to the most charming, captivating and debonair performance in the history of the spy genre. There is no Bond without Connery! Fun, action packed, and full of some of the most iconic moments in history of the 007 franchise (Pussy Galore, Oddjob, and the laser scene), there’s a reason GOLDFINGER is considered the greatest Bond movie of all time. That reason is Connery, Sean Connery.

It is available to rent on Amazon, Google, Vudu, YouTube and iTunes.

THE UNTOUCHABLES

This is the role that won him the Oscar! THE UNTOUCHABLES is a classic gangster film that showcases the highest point in De Palma’s career. It is a tense, action packed battle of good vs. evil with fantastic shootouts, beautiful cinematography, and an amazing Morricone score. The soul of the film is centered around the emotional and well-developed character relationships, the most potent of them being between mentor, Connery and ward, Costner. The film showcases Connery at his most badass and also tender moments. For a film called THE UNTOUCHABLES, Connery found a way to make it quite touching.

It is available on Starz.

THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER

This claustrophobic thriller is full of military science mumbo jumbo that should have sunk on the big screen. Tom Clancy’s technical dialogue stays afloat thanks to John DIE HARD McTiernan’s masterful direction and believable performances by Alec Baldwin and Sean Connery.

Thank you Connery for “welcoming us into the new world.”

It is available on Showtime.

THE ROCK

What Connery did best was turn ridiculous characters into heartfelt screen legends. The perfect example of this is in Michael Bay’s thriller, THE ROCK. This movie operates at ludicrous speed and Connery delivers lines like, “Your best! Losers always whine about their best! Winners go home and f*ck the prom queen”. With sincerity, Connery warmly “Welcomes ALL to THE ROCK.”

It is available to try and escape on Hulu
